Hot Stuff

I'm late again with this post.  Hopefully the grandparents will forgive me.  It's been a bit of a hectic weekend.  Amelia's daycare called on Friday afternoon asking for us to come pick her up because she was running a fever.  She's been running one off and on since then.  We took her to the doctor's on Saturday, just to be safe, but the verdict was inconclusive.  No apparent issues other than a stuffy nose that she's had for the past two weeks, but every time the Tylenol wares off, she runs a temp of about 101.  Strange.  I just hoping that it's teething or something like that and will be soon in our past.

Despite being a little sick, Amelia has still been an active kid.  There doesn't seem to be a barrier that she's not afraid to navigate.  As a result, we've had a couple of head bonks and most of the living room is covered in blankets and pillows.  The head bonks don't stop her though.  She seems to believe in the old mantra, "if at first you don't succeed . . . "

She's pulling up on everything and her balance is really improving.  There have been a couple of times when she'll stand up and then let go of whatever she pulled up on.  She'll stand there for a while until she realizes what she's doing, and then promptly sit down.  I managed to catch one of these moments on camera though.  It's one of this week's photos that is pasted in below.

We also have a short video for this week.  One segment is Amelia eating banana out of a mesh bag made for this purpose.  She REALLY enjoys eating banana this way.  It will occupy her for up to half an hour.  The down side is the cleanup.  She has so much fun with it though, that I don't really mind the extra baths.

The other segment in this week's video is from early this week when Amelia was learning how to pull up.  She's improved a great deal since this video though.  There's no more hesitation.  Pretty much as quick as you turn your back, she's climbing up on something.  And so the adventures continue . . . .
