Another busy week. Bill's birthday was today. We kept it low key, but Amelia got him an iPhone and also some DVDs that he wanted. We ate dinner at Steak and Shake tonight -- one of Bill's favorite places. Amelia enjoyed licking a little of his shake off my finger. We made some good birthday memories.
This has been a big learning week for Amelia. She's full of energy and difficult to keep up with. Accident reports were common when we picked her up from daycare. Nothing serious -- just the typical falls of kiddos her age -- but she's sporting a few bruises for her efforts. Given how busy she's been, I figured the monkey photos below would be appropriate (thanks to Aunt Katie for the costume -- she's just now grown into it!).
The other big breakthrough this week has been communication. At least with a couple of words, she seems to understand, and even in context. We've been working with the little flashcards for a while. Suddenly this week, it seems like the light has come on. It's nice to finally feel like she understands us a little.
