First Thanksgiving

I am again way too long in posting on the Amelia blog.  I hope the grandparents will forgive me.  It's been a full couple of weeks, including Amelia's first Thanksgiving.  We celebrated in KC with the Kalahurkas.  Amelia will have her first Christmas in Texas at Nanny  & Paw Paw's.

This week, Amelia's new trick is walking.  Although she took her first couple of steps over a month ago, I was reluctant to say she was "walking."  Before, she would only take a few short steps and then lunge forward, expecting you to catch her.  This past week, however, she has really taken off.  She will now confidently cover entire rooms without holding on to anything.  This afternoon, she went about 25 feet across the airport to meet Bill.  I'm pretty pooped from chasing her all over the place.  Below is a video of her walking around Poppi and Puter's house.  The video also showcases her new word for this week -- "HI!"

We also had a good report on BK2.  Below is a photo from our first trimester screening.  All of the tests came back negative, which means that BK2 is at very low risk for any genetic problems, such as Downs Syndrome.  We are pretty happy about that.

The rest of the photos below are just fun ones from our Thanksgiving trip to KC.  It was nice to have some extra hands and a couple of nights out.  Poppi & Puter were very kind to baby-sit.  Amelia had fun with them, especially playing in her "little house."

The Thanksgiving fare was delicious and we got to see a lot of Bill's family..  Overall, it was a wonderful (and memorable) weekend.  I think I will especially remember how Amelia gagged on something Bill gave her to eat and vomited her Thanksgiving dinner all over the table . . . . good times!
