New Floor

It's been an up and down week for the Kalahurkas.  On Monday evening, Amelia started running a fever and obviously felt bad.  By Tuesday morning, she was really not happy and still feverish, so Bill and I each took a 1/2 day off work to stay home with her.  Wednesday morning, she woke happy and fever free, but by Thursday afternoon, I started feeling under the weather.  Full stomach bug by Thursday evening.  Bill was very kind to just let me go straight to bed when I got home from work.  He took baby duty for the evening. It must have been a 24-hour bug though, because by Friday, I was feeling pretty good again.  Today everyone is once again happy and healthy.  In fact, Amelia had an unusually happy day today.  She thought everything was really funny.

Amelia is still pretty unsteady on her feet, and so our hard-wood living room floor has been tough for her.  This week, we decided that our house is just going to be a baby house for a few years and so we ordered a foam play mat for the living room.  Photo below.  Bill was pleased that we were able to get one in Chief's colors.  Amelia has taken a few spills on it already, and it is definitely doing its job.  No more ugly head bumps.  She just bounces on the mat and keeps going.

One of the big positives this week was our doctor's appointment on Friday to peek in on 2BK.  (S)he is wiggling all over the place and has grown some very cute arms and legs.  We didn't get a great print-out from the ultrasound, so I'm not going to post it.  We've got another ultrasound next week though, and hopefully that one will be blog-worthy.

The doc said that everything looks really good at this point in the pregnancy.  We talked some about Amelia's restricted growth issues, and about things I could do to give this baby the best possible chance of making it full term.  The doc said that he wanted me to gain at least 35 pounds with this pregnancy and to avoid any strenuous exercise.  So I guess Amelia and I will be doing stroller walks, instead of stroller runs, but it's only for nine months and totally worth it if I can give this baby a better chance of avoiding the NICU ordeal that Amelia went through.

Okay.  So here is the fun part.  Below are this week's photos.  I got a couple of cute ones this afternoon of Amelia and her friend Japser when we met Clea and Mike for an early outing to celebrate Clea's birthday.  Good times.
