It has been 10 days since our last post. A lot has happened since then. Amelia had her two-month pediatrician's appointment. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. That seems HUGE given where she started, but then I realized that it is still a full ounce smaller than I was at birth. . . Still pretty tiny, I guess. Nonetheless, her doctor was pleased with Amelia's progress. She's growing, eating and otherwise doing very well. Also, this last week she started smiling and making some new sounds (see photos below for a couple very cute Amelia smiles :-)..
Last week was Spring Break for Bill. We took the opportunity to go to Kansas City for a week-long visit. It was very relaxing. Amelia did great on the airplane and there were lots of welcoming arms to greet her. We spent the week visiting grandparents, great grandparents (for Amelia), cousins and friends. Highlights included an evening out with Uncle Terry and Annie (Poppi and Puter kept Amelia). We enjoyed a nice dinner and then saw Katie's show -- "Kiss Me Kate"-- at the Off Center Theatre. Another highlight was the St. Patrick's day open house that Poppi and Puter gave for Amelia. There was a terrific turn-out, delicious food, and Amelia got to meet a lot of friends and family. The open house was a fun way to see everyone without having to spend all of our time traveling around. Thanks Poppi & Puter!
We are home now. Bill is having friends over this evening for a belated St. Patrick's day Corn Beef and Cabbage Feast. We will also watch some basketball (March Madness, you know). Amelia is looking forward to her Dad's party as another opportunity to wear the special St. Patrick's day outfit that Puter bought for her (pictured in the Open House photos below).
Here are some of my favorite photos from our trip:
