Amelia is almost 2 months old. She is keeping us very busy these days, which is why my blogs have been increasingly infrequent. Right now I'm doing my first typing of the day with both hands. Amelia just fell asleep. I think she's "down for the night," which means I've got about 3.5 hours until the midnight feeding. All of my meals today were consumed quickly and mostly with one hand. The long naps are fewer and Amelia is more often awake and demanding (loudly) my attention. It's okay though. Every new change is amazing to me, and even though I'm pretty tired by the end of the day, I realize that this time with her is precious. All too soon I will be back at work and so will miss most of her days. Also, she will grow quickly. She won't be so small for very much longer. Consequently, I am savoring all of this time with her -- even when it is sometime hectic or stressful.
Here are my funny Amelia photos
for this week. Bill has agreed to watch
Amelia one night a week while I play on the UT Math
Department intramural softball team. Last night I came home
from practice to find them like this in front of the television.
Not exactly how I usually put Amelia
to sleep, but still amusing. I'm just glad that he at least
had one hand on her (not that she's rolling around yet, but you
never know when she will that very first time).
Amelia also had a couple of visitors this week. Among them were her Uncle Eddie Ellison and her cousin George Hoy and his friend Cathy. Below are some photos from these visits.
On Thursday night, Amelia had a visit from our friends John and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is talented with her camera and took some really great photos. Here are a few that I especially like:
We are very excited about next week. We are spending Spring Break week in Kansas City with Poppi and Puter. There should be lots of fun photos when we get home!
