I PASSED THE TEST!!!!

I have been pretty lucky in life where tests are concerned.  I have found that if I put in the time and effort, I can usually pass the test without much difficulty.  That was the case for me, at least, until about a year ago when Bill and I decided to start trying to start a family.  Month after month, we put in the requisite time and effort.  Month after month, I failed the test.  In January we sought extra assistance from the medical profession.  Still, even with a pretty significant amount of medical intervention, month after month, I failed the test.  Until today . . .

This morning I went downstairs before my morning run with Steve.  It was the dreaded "test day," and so without much hope (I was getting pretty used to failing by this time), I took the ol' pregnancy test yet again.   This time was different though.   This time, instead of the clear negative result that I was used to getting . . . . .

Holy S*%(#!!!!   I blinked, looked again, then thundered up the stairs and flipped on the light in our bedroom.  I'm sure Bill thought the house was on fire or something.  He squinted at me from his interrupted sleep as I yelled something at him like, "Houston, we have TWO red lines."  Then I thrust the test in front of his sleepy eyes for confirmation.

Needless to say, we were pretty excited and happy.  Even though it was before 5am, neither of us were able to go back sleep.  When I left the house, Bill was downstairs on the computer ordering books from Amazon with titles like "My Boys Can Swim, A Guy's Guide to Pregnancy."  I didn't get much work done today.  The recurring thought of those two red lines was terribly distracting.  I can't believe that I finally passed THE TEST!!

And so the adventure begins . . . .
