New Camera!

It's now been over one years since I started Amelia's blog.  Over one year since that happy morning when I passed the test.  Amazing the twists and turns that life takes.  What a wonderful adventure!

I've been waiting to post this blog.  I was inspired by the beautiful photos that our friend, Elizabeth Johnson, took of Amelia at Bill's graduation breakfast.  I used a little of a bonus that we got at work to purchase a new camera.  It's not the top of the line, but it is pretty fancy for my purposes (which is primarily taking photos of Amelia).  I'm going to have to get Elizabeth or Clea to give me some lessons.  What I already like about it, however, is that I don't have to wait three seconds after I push the button to actually take the photo.  Now I have a lot better chance of catching the elusive Amelia smile.  I didn't have time to play with it tonight until after Amelia's bedtime.  Here are some photos of my sleeping beauty.

Amelia is getting more alert every day.  She follows us with her eyes.  She gets excited and kicks her feet and opens her mouth when I put on her bib and get out the sweet potatoes.  She likes to play a new game called "high five."  Here is a short video of her playing the new game.

These are really good times.  Sometimes that realization hits me and I wish I could bottle and save every moment.  I guess that the photos and the videos are the closest that I will ever come to being able to do that.  We are lucky to live in a time when there are so many great ways to preserve these memories.

Okay.  Enough blogging.  It's time to do all of the evening chores to get ready for a working Mom day tomorrow.  Good Night!
