FIRST BABY GIFT

One of the first real symptoms of pregnancy that I experienced was during my regular weekly runs.  All of the sudden, an easy four mile jog seemed more like a 5K race.  Uggh.  I expect that the 105 degree Texas heat is not helping things, but even so, I can definitely tell that my body hasn't caught up with the extra blood pumping and such.

Doc says a moderate level of exercise is healthy, and so I've decided to keep up the running (now jog/walking) as much as possible.  Steve (namesake of Little Stevie #1) runs with me on Fridays and has been very patient with my new slowness.  He keeps saying things like, "you can go on if you want, Steph, but my old bones need a break and so I'm going to walk for a little ways up ahead."  This, from Steve, who rarely even pauses long enough on a run to refill his water bottle . . . well, to say that Steve is being a good running buddy through all of this would be the understatement of the year.

This morning when I arrived for my weekly Friday run (jog/walk) with Steve, he was waiting with a present for Little Stevie #1.  Last week, Steve went to Dublin, Texas to participate in the annual Dr. Pepper 10K.  This is what he brought back for Little Stevie.   I also got a delicious bottle of Dublin Dr. Pepper . . . .

One of our monkeys (Blue) was just the right size to model Little Stevie's first newborn outfit.  It says "I'm a Little Pepper."  Very cute.  Thanks Steve!
