Fun with Family

This was a fun weekend with the family.  Amelia and I attended the 1st ever Adare Family Runion (my maternal grandmother's family).  It was a good time seeing folks that we had not seen in years and introducing Ameila to a lot of 2nd and 3rd cousins.  Here are the photos from the event.

Today was a relaxed, but fun, day.  Amelia and I slept in while Bill got up early and did a long run.  We tackled tasks like laundry and making next week's baby food during the morning.  In the late morning, early afternoon, we took another outing to The Domain.  It's fun to walk around the shops and grab lunch.  Bill got a couple of new running shirts.

Bill and I have been having fun this week watching the Sesame Street videos that we bought for Amelia.  I'm not sure that she appreciates them, but Bill and I have watched little else.  We got episodes dating back to 1969.  It's pretty interesting to watch folks like James Earl Jones, Jackie Robinson and Jessie Jackson host Sesame Street.  Also, I never knew that Oscar the Grouch was originally orange!  Pretty cool.

For the Amelia update - she has been getting MUCH better at eating solid foods and sleeping at night.  We are not doing "sleep training" at night yet because I am usually not willing to put her in her crib until some time after she has gone to sleep.  I may regret it later, but right now, I just want to hold her when I get home from work and 1 or 1.5 hours doesn't seem to be enough (for me).  She will usually go to sleep in my arms and I will take her up to her crib after I've had my fill of "snuggle time."  She really is a very good baby.

This week's photos show off some really neat gifts that Amelia received (and it's not even her birthday or anything like that!).  In the photos below, you will see a really cute outfit that she received from Aunt Dotty and another from the Parks in Colorado.  Also shown below is an AWESOME hand-knitted sweater from Aunt Annie!  It's great.  Even a personalized tag.  It's a little big now, but should fit Amelia perfectly by the time cool weather gets here.  Thanks guys!!
