Back to Baby Kalahurka Main Page July 7 KC Fourth & Big Changes at Work
Someone wise once said, "The more things change, the more they remain . . . insane." Boy, did that person ever get it right! This past week has been a totally insane week of rather stressful changes at my firm. The three partners in my office who are in my practice group announced their decision to start their own firm on June 30. The transition has been hectic, and more than a little stressful. I've been doing a LOT of non-billable administrative work, while trying to keep my head down to avoid the inevitable fallout. After a week, I think the air is starting to clear. I'm hoping that it will be more smooth sailing from this point on.
Given the stress at work last week, it was REALLY nice to go to KC for a relaxing visit with Bill's family over the long weekend holiday. We saw Amelia's Aunt Katie in a spectacular stage performance. We had a couple of visits with Amelia's Great Grandpa Kalahurka and we enjoyed fireworks and food at Amelia's Great Aunt Mary and Uncle Doyle's lake house. Poppi and Puter generously offered to entertain Amelia while Bill and I enjoyed a couple of naps and morning workouts. I'm including below some of my favorite Amelia photos from her KC weekend. We made it back to Austin last night with no significant delays. Amelia was pretty good on the plane, even if she didn't sleep all the way like she did last time. Bill took her to her 6-month pediatrician's appointment today. She weighed in at 13 pounds and 4 ounces. 10th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in height, so we are catching up!
I've still got some unpacking to do, so this will be a short report. Come back soon for more fun with Amelia!
