A New "Photo" and an Update

Today was our first appointment with my regular baby doctor.  (We've been seeing the fertility docs.  They watch everything for the first several weeks, and then pass you back to your regular physician if everything is going well).

The appointment went well.  Not a lot new of new information, but it was nice for Bill to meet the man who will eventually be delivering our baby.  They also gave us a big bag of "sample goodies" that I haven't had a chance to go through yet.  It looked like a bunch of pre-natal vitamins and special "morning sickness" suckers.  I may have to give one of those a try the next time that it feels like lunch may pay me a return visit . . .

The highlight of our appointment was again the chance to see Baby Kalahurka (aka "Little Stevie #1").  Doc did not tell us the measurements this time, but said that everything looks normal for a little past nine weeks.  Baby's heart rate was good (doc said between 150-155 bpm).  The coolest thing was that, while we were watching, baby decided to squirm and move.  It was totally clear that (s)he was a little living moving creature.  WAY cool.

Anyway, here's the photo.  Not easy to read, so I've marked again where they told us the head and bottom are.  Head is yellow dot.  Bottom is red dot.  At this stage, the baby's head is about half the size of its body.  Proportions will normalize a little later.

Our next appointment is in a month, so take a good look, it'll be a while before we get to peek in on Baby again.  Bill says he's going to have baby withdrawal.  I expect I will to -- baby watching is fun.
