Special Gifts

Week 34 and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We had a relaxed weekend leading into the new year.  Yesterday, we enjoyed a late Christmas with my family and celebrated the first birthday of Young Wyatt Ray, my brother Nathan's little boy.  We also opened some late Christmas gifts.

Amelia received a REALLY special gift from her cousin -- my niece -- Michaela.  Michaela had taken the time to knit a very special baby hat.  These types of handmade gifts are very special.  As we sat at the table with all of Amelia's cousins yesterday, I couldn't help thinking that I hope our Amelia grows up to be as cool a kid as they are.  I told them that they will have to be role models for her.  They have set a very high bar.

Amelia received some other very special handmade gifts over Christmas.  I'm including a photo below.  In the photo are a handmade quilt from her Great Grandmother Reutter.  Some very cute knitted Mary Jane booties from her Aunt Annie, and the soft and snuggly hat that was knitted for her by Cousin Michaela.

It's back to work tomorrow.  Only a month and a little more to go.  I'm hoping that work will be busy enough to distract me from the anticipation.

Clea's baby shower is today.  Mine is next week.  Should be some fun posts after that!
