Back to Baby Kalahurka Main Page January
12, 2009 Week 35
I'm really late posting this weekly blog. It's been very busy at work, and I just haven't been able to face the computer again when I got home. I feel really bad about that too, because this weekend was a special date in the pregnancy timeline -- it was Baby Shower Weekend!
Three of my very best friends -- Ashley, Clea and Teresa -- coordinated to give me and Baby Amelia a wonderful shower. Some of my friends and family came a long way - from San Antonio and Lampasas - to celebrate her impending arrival. There were some really neat gifts for me and LOADS of special gifts for Amelia. After the shower, we took inventory and I think I am now completely ready from a supplies standpoint. Whether I'm ready from an emotional standpoint is a totally different question . . .
I wanted to express our sincerest thanks to all of our friends and family who attended the shower. Also, we are grateful to all of the family in Kansas City who sent Baby Amelia fantastic gifts. Bill, Amelia and I are very lucky to have such thoughtful and generous people in our lives. We can't wait for all of you to meet Amelia in person (won't be long now, and she has a very stylish wardrobe to show off).
Below are some photos from the shower (click on the thumbnail to view the larger version):
As for a progress update on Baby Amelia -- we had a doc's appointment last Thursday. Overall, things look good. He was a little concerned that Amelia is on the small side. We're going to have another ultrasound this Thursday to follow up on that. I'll let you know how it goes.
Amelia continues to be active and energetic. Right now, in fact, she is practicing her crazy kickboxing maneuvers. I'm just hoping that she finishes her major exercises before bed time . . . .
Next week is Week 36 -- the official mark of "you should be ready because baby could come anytime." YIKES!
(You may also notice that I have accidentally deleted the side menu to all of my prior posts. I'm going to have to fix that, but I'm too pooped tonight. I hope to have those links up and working again soon
