Hectic Holiday Season

It's that time of year -- the time when there seems to be so much to do and not enough time to squeeze it all in.  Christmas shopping, holiday cards, holiday parties . . . yikes!  I realized when I sat down to blog tonight that I'm pretty pooped (and I haven't accomplished half of the things that need to be done before Christmas finally does get here).  The good news is that we always manage to get things done in time, and I suspect that this year will be no different.

Good news this week is that Bill finished his first semester of teaching at Huston Tillotson.  Congrats Dr. Daddy!  He says that overall he really enjoyed it.  I was glad to hear this.  It means that we are both really happy at our new jobs.

Speaking of job, I've got a busy couple of weeks coming up there too.  Everyone was scared about the tax laws changing, so I think I've got about 6 deals closing between now and December 31.  Should be interesting!  The good news is that, once it's all done, we should be able to relax for a while.

But enough about us . . . what's up with Amelia?  She's now very confidently walking everywhere.  One of her favorite games this week was having her Daddy chase her.  She squeals and runs (what really looks like a fast waddle).  She also loves it when we get on all fours and chase her up the stairs.  It's quite a lot of fun.  Amelia also seems to have turned a corner in her understanding of us.  She's learning new things much faster than previously.  She likes to waive, brush her hair with her hairbrush, and she's getting good at identifying specific body parts when we ask her to.  Ears and feet are her current favorites.

We had a good doctor's appointment this week.  BK2 is still doing well.  Thus far, everything is healthy and on track.  I did get a small lecture about needing to put on some additional pounds.  Bill was present for the lecture and so had fun "punishing me" with subsequent ice cream outings.  Some punishment!

Okay, that's all I've got for this week.  Below are some cute Amelia photos from today.  In the first, she managed to stick a cheerio in her hair using oatmeal.  In the second, you will see that she was very busy watching sports commentary with her Dad.
