April 5

Easter Bunnies & Bluebonnets

I can't believe it's already April 5.  My maternity leave has nearly reached its end.  I started easing back into work by taking on some hours from home beginning last week.  It has definitely been a challenge.  Gone are the lunch outings and other activities.  Now I find myself trying to squeeze work into every moment that Amelia is not needing my attention.  Work tasks that require me to actually focus seem to only be possible at night after Amelia has gone to bed and can be expected to sleep for two or three hours straight.  I'm still getting up multiple times each night to feed her, so the result has been that I'm more tired and I'm finding that I'm also a little more impatient with her.  I realize that this is not her fault though.  She's still very tiny and shouldn't be expected to be on any kind of a schedule just yet.  Consequently, I just remind myself that this time is precious, take a deep breath, and try to forget about the looming work during the hours that I do have to spend with my Amelia.  As they always do, I am sure that things will get easier with time.

On a more positive note, this past weekend was Amelia's first Easter holiday.  Thanks to Mom Kalahurka, the Giant Pink Easter Bunny made another appearance in San Marcos.  I don't think Amelia really appreciated the Easter Bunny, but my other nieces and nephews did.  We had a fun time at Nanny & Paw Paw's house after attending church with them.  Click Here for some photos from our Easter gathering.  Below are some other cute spring photos that I have taken of Amelia in the last week or so.

Enjoy!
