Easter in San Marcos

Busy weekend!  Amelia, Bill and I went to San Marcos for Easter Sunday with Nanny & PawPaw and the rest of the Ellison crew.  Nathan made some delicious BBQ, everyone brought a side dish and we all ate too much.  Amelia was much more aware of the festivities this year.  Peppy (that's me to all of the other nieces and nephews) dressed up as a VERY PORTLY Easter Bunny and we all enjoyed the annual egg hunt / cascarones war in the front yard.  Click here for a link to all of the photos.  Below are some choice shots of Amelia enjoying her second Easter with the Ellisons.

Baby Billy continues to grow.  Bill is helping me count down the days to his arrival.  It's getting more and more uncomfortable, but I just keep reminding myself how short this time is and what a small price it is to pay for our son.

Amelia has been a lot of fun lately.  Aside from the occasional tantrum when she doesn't get her way (like when she wanted to take her Cheerios in the bathtub last night), she's a very happy kiddo.  She's really starting to understand us, and that helps.  She can follow small instructions, such as :"please close the door," or "please put that in the trash can."  She definitely also understands the word "no!"  This morning, in response to my firm "no" as she started to throw her breakfast on the floor (something we have been working on not doing), she just giggled, shook her finger at me and said "no no no."  This sort of thing cracks me up.  I have to fight not to smile and laugh.

Here is a short video of Amelia demonstrating playing the "body parts" game.  Because she still has to ride rear-facing in her car seat, I typically ride in the back with her and play games like this.  I'm really ready for her to be 20 pounds so that we can turn her car seat around and I can get back to the front seat.  In the mean time, though, this type of fun makes me feel better about always riding in the back.
